day 1 | journaling, jesus, blogging & nails

As I sit down to write this I am laughing to myself at the thought of others reading this. But here you are, welcome. Really and truly, I'm so glad you've come along with me. It's like that moment when you trip and no one is around to laugh at you, with you. You are here to laugh at me, with me. Thank you.

Don't you love that I'm having to do a blogging challenge to force myself to do what normal people probably do daily?

I squeezed in 4 things today. All so good and so refreshing in their own way.

Journaling & Jesus.

This morning was a crazy good time in the Word and in prayer/journaling. I can't remember the last time the Lord spoke so clearly (in my head) to me. Honestly. For lack of a better word it was powerful. Literally one of those moments you think: "Things may never be the same again."

And I needed this specific message to get through the crazy that was my day.

Blogging.

For a variety of reasons I've let the blog go. Some things just had to go. Unfortunately this wasn't one of those things that should've gone. Other things could've been cut. But this, this needed to stay. So one of the most selfish things I did today was signing up for this blog series. I'm so excited to be back.

Monday manicure: Essie's After School Boy Blazer (a deep navy)

I love manicures. Not just the kind you get at the salon (like my Dave Ramsey budget would ever allow that). I really love painting my own nails. I used to do it every single week. How some girls grab a magazine at check out, I swing by the polish section and pick up a bottle every few trips. Painted nails is one of my favorite things. They just make me happy. So today, while both girls were down for naps, I painted. And I'm in love with this navy hue by Essie: After School Boy Blazer.
