This one may not seem like it's for me, but I promise you it is... sort of.
This morning at the end of our worship service at Bayou City Fellowship, our pastor told us about Every Village's Radio Challenge: "South Sudan's literacy rate is minuscule, leaving many without a way to access God's word, hygiene training, news, and other essential information. But $20 changes everything... Radio towers currently broadcast hope in local languages across the country. After you buy a solar-powered, hand-held radio, it's distributed so a small group can tune in." (Information taken from their website.)
Our Pastor challenged us to give. He said, "If you have a choice today to give to us or give to them, give to them today." (Who says that?! I love our church.)
So today my heart was full (that's the just for me part) imagining the lives that would be changed, the souls of the people gathered around those hand held radios. Just $20 per radio.
You can buy 1 or 100, whatever you have. Most all of us have $20 (that's only like 4 pumpkin spice lattes or 1 shirt at Target to give up this month). Check it out here.
This girl has 102.5 fever today and you'd never know (this is how we ended up in the hospital the last time she was sick). Pretty sure it's just teething though-- all FOUR of her top teeth broke through today. Crazy.
Happiest kid ever. Best daddy ever.
Watching this video will be the best thing you could do for yourself today too, enjoy!
