day 9 | i worked out hard

A couple of months ago I started working with a fitness and nutrition coach to help me as I pursue a healthier life. The program is great-- it's realistic, not an extreme diet or exercise plan, but it still pushes me beyond what I would do on my own. It's been a long time since I worked out. A long time since I worked out like an athlete. Where I gasped for air and ached and groaned. I've worked out here and there over the years. Nothing consistent. Nothing body changing.

I don't know what it is that's been holding me back. Maybe fear? Or laziness? Maybe ignorance? Or insecurity? Or a little bit of all of them.

But today, my just for me thing is that...

I worked out hard.

I panted. I was dripping in sweat. My muscles ached.

But I didn't quit when that happened or end the rep early. I kept going.

Because I'm ready to feel on the outside what I am on the inside.

Strength.

It will take way more than one day of really pushing myself. But today I turned a personal corner. After a couple of months of working with my coach, things finally changed for me. I changed.
