I was tagged for a Book Meme by Kelly Fisher. This is very exciting because I'm not sure I've ever been tagged for anything.
Questions: What does "meme" mean or stand for?
Here are the rules:
1. Pick up the nearest book (of at least 123 pages).
2. Open the book to page 123.
3. Find the fifth sentence.
4. Post the next three sentences.
5. Tag five people.
So I have two books sitting on my desk: Breaking Free Bible study and my Bible. Don't I seem spiritual? The truth is I still haven't gotten to my Bible study today. I had high hopes of getting to work early and doing it this morning, but I got distracted by email and work and now blogs. Shame on me!
Breaking Free: "Notice the qualifier of the bride's actions: she has made herself ready. Past tense. We cannot make ourselves ready teh moment we see Christ any more than a woman can be prepared to meet her groom at the altar with three minutes' of notice. If we belong to Christ, we'll still see Him, whether or not we've prepared ourselves to be fitting brides; or not, but I want to be ready. Don't you? I don't want to be caught with spiritual curlers in my hair!"
Wow! I wasn't expecting to get slapped with that! That so hits home for me having just planned a wedding! I had no problem spending countless hours, days, weeks and months consuming my life with planning a wedding. I devoted every spare moment I had to it. WHY DON'T I DO THE SAME WITH JESUS? Why did I put more effort into my wedding day than I ever have with Christ?
Praise God He is getting a hold of me and getting my attention! Love it!!!
So I tag: Jen Cates, Erin DuBroc, Michelle Sanders, Kelly/FabulousKDesigns and Lindsee Lou (new blog friend). You can link to their blogs to the right.
*Can anyone tell me how to link to another person's blog in a post. I see all these other blogs where all you have to do is click on the person's name and it takes you to the blog. I am so not a tech girl. Please comment if you know how to help me.
