Some days you just have to celebrate the small victories. ;)
Yesterday Karis also reached her six week birthday. I can hardly believe it has been a whole month and a half. I look at her each day now and the little bitty newborn is slowly sneaking away. I am loving who she is becoming, but also already missing the cuddly, sleepy newborn with that teeny tiny frame. But now she is so alert, smiley and more interactive. She must still be 25% for weight and 75% for height. Yesterday, with the cool front in the air, I put her newborn pants on her. They finally fit on her waist, but now look like capri pants. Going up to 0-3 months fit her in length but look like she is a baby gangsta (super baggy).
Her Grammy sent some love money for both of us to get some winter clothes (love those love boxes she sends)! So I bought her this winter coat from The Gap (they are having a 25% off sale today):
I had a white faux fur coat when I was little too.
And while I was splurging, I bought her this dress for her Parent Commitment (that's what Houston's First calls Baby Dedication):
Shopping for her is more fun than shopping for myself. Oh how fun the day will be when we sneak away to the mall together. Don't worry Honey, it will be within the budget. No need to panic.
