FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

WHAT DO YOU SPEAK ABOUT?

I can work with a theme that has already been decided, help the event leaders develop a theme, or seek the Lord and see where He leads. Every talk I give is customized to the event and its attendees.

I typically speak from where God is moving in my life at the moment in correlation with the event theme or purpose. The only exception is during the holidays because I'm often asked to speak about making the most of the holidays since I wrote Sacred Holidays, so those messages can be similar, although they will be customized for your specific group and event.

My speaking style is adjusted based on the size of the group, but I try to be very casual, conversational, direct, and empowering. I share vulnerably, letting women know that I am right there with them with their struggles, joys, fears, hopes, and dreams. Always weaved into any message is that God is enough and able, He is worthy of our pursuit, He wants to use us, and there is great joy and freedom in Him.

I consider myself a part of your event team. I am not there just to give a message (or a few messages for conferences and retreats) but to partner with you in ministering to the women that come. I am available the whole time to help you with the event and further connect with the women that have come.

Do you have any of your past speaking engagements recorded? Or do you have a contact list of references?

I am happy to give you FREE access to Online Women’s Bible Study where you can sample my more recent teaching.

Here is my Christmas message from 2018. Each year my Christmas talk changes, and I’m also flexible to customize it for an event’s specific theme. While this is a Christmas recorded message, and I’ve written a holiday book and Bible studies, I often speak at women’s retreats and gatherings all throughout the year.

*Note that this is for a Christmas Women’s Gathering, which is typically lighter in content than a retreat would be. These events are typically “seeker friendly,” and because of that, it is a much more casual format and more conceptual teaching of scripture study, as opposed to exegetical. For retreats and other events that are more discipleship geared, we would obviously dig deeper into the content of the text. However, either way, this is a true sample of my personality and approach to teaching.

In addition, here is a live interview record with Focus on the Family and on the 700 Club for their 2018 Thanksgiving Day Show:

Also, I am happy to connect you with the ministry leaders that I have recently worked with for you to get a reference both about my speaking and how I am to work with. Contact me today if you'd like this list.

WHAT ARE YOUR SPEAKING FEES?

This is always the hardest question for ministries to ask, but I know it matters, so I always like to answer it early. (Grin.) After working at several churches and being a part of several ministries, I know that every budget is different. Let me know your speaker budget, and we will work from there together. I require that any travel outside of the Houston area be covered in addition to the speaker honorarium. If your speaker budget isn’t something I can work within or someone has already secured that date but hasn’t been added to my online calendar, I am always happy to recommend other speakers.

HOW FAR WILL YOU TRAVEL?

I am willing to travel anywhere in the United States and am open to international events. I will drive up to three hours from Houston, Texas; longer than that, and flights will need to be provided. In addition, as I said in the fees section, all travel must be covered.

WHAT ARE YOUR BELIEFS? WHAT DENOMINATION DO YOU ALIGN WITH?

I believe in Jesus and aim to follow Him. I know there are one million variations of that answer these days. I wouldn't say I align with a certain denomination. I was raised Methodist; after becoming a Christian, I was part of a Baptist church for two decades (both as a member and then on staff), and since then, I’ve been in Non-Denominational churches. I consider myself a spiritual Mut. I've learned that we are all a part of the church, all following Jesus together. Our expressions of that pursuit differ from time to time, but the core of who we are is the same. During our pre-speaking call, I will find out if there are any things I need to be sensitive to or aware of about your specific denomination. For the most part, all of what I teach is denomination-neutral. If you want to check out my church’s statement of beliefs, go to this page, I align 100% with these statements.

If you have specific theological questions, please ask!

IF YOU AREN'T available, DO YOU RECOMMEND OTHER SPEAKERS?

Of course! In fact, I LOVE getting to share my friends and favorite speakers with you! If I'm unavailable, I'd still love to help you find the best speaker for your ladies. There are so many wildly gifted women, and I know several personally and am happy to pass along their information to you. And even if I am available but not the right speaker for your event, I’m happy to connect you to other speaker friends!
